Teflon and PTFE came into existence around six decades ago and are the most improved version of plastic after Bakelite. PTFE is well known for its performance and used in most of the engineering applications. Teflon is a durable material which has non-stick and stain resistant capabilities. Teflon has diverse uses apart from cookware. It finds its application in lens coatings of eye-glasses, used to develop various personal hygiene products, act as stain protector, used in the automotive industry, used in wiper blades, biotech manufacturing processes, marine coatings etc. The Teflon sheets are used in many houses and offices as heat and water protector. Teflon is an improved version of PTFE. Teflon consists of three layers and the utensils made from it are easy to clean and cook.

The PTFE sheets are also plastic like material with different benefits. PTFE sheet manufacturer must use a quality plastic mixed in the right proportion to develop a good PTFE sheet. Some of the different advantages of PTFE are- it has low friction co-efficient, has got great chemical resistance too, it also offers high resistance against temperature of maximum 250 degree C and is also used in electrical insulation. It is widely used in the food industry due to its resistive nature which protects the food from being contaminated. This is the only reason why PTFE had continued its rule over other plastic material till now.
